Hello!
Here's a little bit more about me, incase you were wondering. I am a self-confessed travelholic, but these days with two little ones, we focus on more family-friendly destinations. We moved to the Wairarapa two and a half years ago from Wellington and we love living in the countryside and the slower pace of life here. My favourite place I've ever lived has to be Konstanz, on the border of Germany and Switzerland. I'm always dreaming or planning the next adventure. I love creative photography and capturing memories and telling stories through videography. I'm also a bit of a geek and love the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I love hard rock/heavy metal music and some of my favourite concerts I've been to include Rammstein, Tool and Metallica. A funny travel memory I have is in Yangon, the capital of Myanmar (solo-travelling). I was visiting their largest temple and a local came up to me and asked to take a photo with me (because of my long blonde hair). I said yes, and before I knew it there was a swarm of people lining up to take photos with me too. I felt a little bit famous (lol not really - but I thought it was pretty hilarious!). I love a good coffee, and all the baked goods. When I'm not editing or spending time with my family, you can usually find me out for a walk or reading a good book.
How I came to be a Wedding Videographer
I have always been a little bit travel obsessed and once upon a time (pre-covid) I used to call it my full time job. I was a travel writer/blogger and did social media marketing for hotels, tourism brands and companies around the world - most recently, a chain of resorts in Fiji! Total #dreamjob. For years, I created my own fun travel videos around the world before I started doing it professionally. When I got married in the Cook Islands in 2016, I made my own little wedding video, and a couple of years later I did the same for my sister. Then in 2020, a friend's sister asked my advice on what camera and tripod they should buy to film their wedding on... I immediately put my hand up and said I'd do it for them! I had an absolute blast filming my first wedding and then editing it into a beautiful video for them. The next year a colleague at the time asked if I could film her wedding too. From there, I decided I loved it so much, I wanted to have a crack at making it my full time job, and then Krysti Jaims Media was born. I started offering wedding videography and other photography services at the start of 2022, and I haven't looked back! Each year continues to get better and better and I absolutely love what I do. Getting to witness so much love and capturing the best day of people's lives is such a joy, as is editing the special timepiece that they get to keep forever. And that's my story in a nutshell. Thanks for stopping by!
